Paphiopedilum Price Point

We love bringing mastersianum into a hybrid, it adds stem length and longevity as well, usually, an exceptionally attractive dorsal

Just a lovely pink coloratum

Trying to put a bigger emphasis on the synsepal, but success is difficult to achieve

This is a throw back to the 1980’s before Terry Root added sukhakulii to the Maudiae breeding.  The twist in this case is we used a vini-color Maudiae with a vini-color sukhakulii influenced hybrid.  Delightfully tall stems.

White rules apply.  If it is in bud and appears either white or pale yellow then the price is $100.  If you buy PLANT ONLY then the Select price applies $20 but there is no guaranty that the flower will be white or pale yellow, it could be green and white

Very different from the later version 01206.  It’s amazing what direct parents from the same pod will produce.

More green than green & white

Officially this is classified as a green & white, but it is much closer to a verdant green with very little indication of any white

  We were expecting pink with large pouches.  Both of the awarded flowers are typical of what we are seeing.  Click on the thumbnail to see both awarded photographs.

A delightful green & white.  We have made this cross several times and it seems to get better each time including an AQ.

Two beautiful flowers meet.  Luna Shadow is perhaps the finest Maudiae style breeding produced by the Orchid Zone.  It appears that about 25% of this hybrid are album.

Very variable with some significant contrasts showing between petal colors and sepals.  On the other hand some simply delightful coloratums.   This remake shows far more coloratums than the previous version which the photograph is from.  

We are seeing some spectacular dorsals on a different combination of colors than the typical Maudiae

Magnificent pinks with spots

Typically strong upright unstated stems with a smaller flower that is deep pink to purple distally.  Frequent bloomer often with two stems.

We combined two pale colored coloraturm flowers and are seeing flowers approaching green and white with spots.  Click on the thumb nail to see both versions.

If Graham’s high school French from many moons ago is remembered correctly this should translate to French Moon.  Very handsome flowers, two awards and lots more with award potential

Classic vini-color, lots with very dark foliage reflecting the fact that both parents are vini-color. Most have the down-swept petals following the form of hte pollen parent.

The awarded flower is as close to black in the petals and pouch as we have seen

A dynamic combination using a pod parent from our most awarded grex altho we have never exhibited this particular flow.  We have used that color every time it opens!

Gorgeous pale pinks with spots

This is a cross of a green & white and a coloraturum.  Many of the flowers are green & white and some are coloratum.  It is the coloratum that was awarded

A cross of a very light Green & White with one of our whites.  A good chance of some white flowers.  Just look at the photograph.  Not the best form by any stretch of the imagination but the spots abound.  Just imagine the next generation if we can put some color into the spots!

In addition to the pink coloratum form photographed we are seeing some trending to more red.

So, why cross two pinks?  Because you can get Vini-colors just like this.  There are two AM’s to this cross both like the photograph

An attempt to bring out the yellow in the petals

Love this form, and the color is quite attractive too, but it does not hold as much appeal as the vinis, unfortunately.

This puts a very light Green & White with a very light coloratum.  There is a green and white version, open the posted photo to see the coloratum.

We found a whole group of this delightful pink with spots.  We thought we had completely sold out but here they are again.
