We used two multi-florals with twisting petals. The first to bloom have continued that characteristic.
We have combined our two free blooming, highest flower count multis. The result is a delight, typically 6 or 7 flowers on first bloom.
Really attractive dark multi-floral with twisting petals
This time we did achieve what we had hoped for, a different color in a true multi-floral. fma katherinae is the album form of kolopakingii that we put with our almost green Temptation. Yes these flowered for the first time in 2021, three years out of flask.
Our light colored Kolosand went with our philippinense alboflavum and some of the progeny are album, not all. Even the color form are really very appealing.
We took our awarded green Temptation, it’s not an album but very close. We added our.awarded philippinense fma alboflavum. Most of the flowers we have seen are light brown/yellow. We assume another generation of album is needed to get the true yellow we are looking for. But that seed pod did not hold this year.
Another attempt to improve the stem length with a remarkably tall Luther Pass and an old favorite as the pollen parent. We are seeing blooms 2 – 1/2 years out of flask but the plants are small. We would prefer to sell them beginning with the 2023 – 24 season unless you absolutely insist.
An effort to increase the stem length of red and spot bulldogs. The shortness of stems has typically long frustrated us. These are showing some improvement in this category.
Another cross of two spotted red bulldogs using a favorite of ours as the pod parent
Kindly Jack we created out of Jack Tonkin and now we get to use it with one of our favorite spotted bulldogs.
These are compact plants favoring the Brachypetalum leaf habit and putting up two or three small round white flowers often sequentially.
We keep being intrigued by the potential for green bulldogs. Here is out latest effort.
Big yellows and some smaller greens
Misty Rose is autumnal and we have added Hellas to that.
Using a white bulldog as the pollen parent has produced more white flowers although some are still favoring the pod parent
We love using Hellas as a parent, it provides a wonderful palate to work with. The results are most often autumnal shades.
This really is a green bulldog
Green Lake was a lake in an old cinder cone that was wiped out by the Fissure Eight flows in the 2018 eruption on island. We have fond memories.

Another of our attempts at getting a more freely flowering bulldog style. This time using a light colored bulldog style with a spotted variety of the species.

A red bulldog was introduced into this line several generations ago. We now have a red Maud on steroids. Two issues, the flowers are spectacular but are given to color breaks, and the plants need a heavy diet of calcium to avoid yellowing of the leaves.

We are always thrilled to get a novelty Paph (intersectional breeding) to breed on. This time it has produced a variety fo flowers from coloratums following charlesworthii to miniature vini-color
Typically strong upright unstated stems with a smaller flower that is deep pink to purple distally. Frequent bloomer often with two stems.
